Timber Days
Logging Competition

Think your team has what it takes?

Gather your crew and compete in one of Timber Days' most anticipated events!

This year's Logging Competition features six 5-person teams competing in a series of traditional logging events that test speed, skill, teamwork, and accuracy. Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, it's sure to be one of the highlights of Timber Days.

Wooden Surface

Competition Events

2-Person Crosscut

Two teammates will use a traditional crosscut saw to cut through a 12-inch diameter log as quickly as possible.

Chainsaw Competition

One competitor will use a stock chainsaw with a 20-inch bar to cut through a 24-inch diameter log.

Choker Run

One teammate will sprint 50 feet, jump over a log, continue another 50 feet to retrieve a choker cable, then race back, wrap the cable around the log, and hook the bell.

Axe Throw

One competitor will throw a double-bit axe from 15 feet away, aiming for the bullseye. Accuracy matters—your score earns valuable time deductions during the team relay!

Team Relay

The grand finale combines every event into one exciting race.

The relay begins with the Crosscut event. Once completed, a teammate tags the Chainsaw competitor. After the chainsaw cut is finished, the Choker Run begins. When the runner completes the course, the relay time stops. Finally, the Axe Throw competitor throws for points, and the score earned is converted into time deducted from the team's relay time, making every throw count.
